Coelogyne rochussenii

Coelogyne rochussenii is native to Malaysia, Borneo, Java, Sumatra, and the Philippines. It produces long, pendulous spikes, reaching 2-3 feet, which bear up to 100 flowers. The flowers range from green to yellow with a white lip, adorned with brown and yellow markings. They have a wonderfully sweet, candy-like fragrance, close semi-overnight, and reopen with the morning sun. These plants typically bloom 2-3 times a year. While the flowers last only about three weeks, the stunning display and fragrance make it worthwhile. They thrive in areas like south Florida or in moderate light conditions (similar to Phalaenopsis or Cattleya care).
